Martín Kalina is a film director based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started directing in advertising at the age of 22 around 2004, and soon became one of the youngest promises in the Argentinian and Latin-American advertising industry.In 2008, at the age of 26, he opened his own production company, Primo, along with his associate Nicolás Perez Veiga conforming the famous directing duo Nico & Martin. Nico and Martin were voted Best Iberoamerican Directors for 2 consecutive years in 2009 and 2010 at El Ojo de Iberoamerica and their work has also received numerous awards, like an Outdoor Grand Prix at Cannes 2010 for Andes Beers Teletransporter, as well as a Film Gold Lion at Cannes 2011 for Axes Premature Perspiration campaign and in 2012 for BGHs Dads In Briefs campaign. These awards, among others, have also secured for Primo the 5th place in the Palme dOr at Cannes 2011.Martin is now filming independently and he is one of Argentinas most well-known directors. He has worked with some of the most prestigious agencies in Argentina, USA and Europe, for brands such as T-Mobile, Sony, Vodafone, Guinness, Axe, Rexona, Renault, Toyota, Chevrolet, Ford, McDonalds and Ikea, among others. Martin just won a gold lion in Cannes 2014 in the Branded Entertainment Internet Film category for The1000 Miles of Luca: a short film, a road movie in a documentary style about the inclusion of people with disabilities.
